About 500 additional households will start receiving money under the Social Cash Transfer Scheme in Chipata district next month.
Provincial Social Welfare Officer, Mulemba Kaleyi confirmed this to Breeze News.
Ms. Kaleyi says this will bring the total number of beneficiaries to 6,474 in Chipata district.
He says the newly identified households are in Chingazi and Kwenje in Senior Chief Nzamane’s area.
Ms. Kaleyi acknowledged that some people who registered to be included on the Social Cash Transfer Scheme have not been included on the program because the state of their vulnerability is better than others.
She explained that households headed by disabled people receive 140 Kwacha while households that are headed by able bodied people receive 70 Kwacha.
