Some political parties have not responded to the routine verification of Ballot Paper Account Forms in Eastern Province.
Provincial Electoral Officer, Alex Bwalya says that when he visited Mambwe district, he found that political parties were not among stakeholders witnessing the exercise.
Mr. Bwalya says that this is despite the ECZ, Electoral Commission of Zambia having invited the political parties to attend.
And Mr. Bwalya says that the routine verification of Ballot Paper Account Forms which started on Saturday is progressing well.
Mr. Bwalya says that the exercise which has attracted monitors and observers is expected to end tomorrow.
He says that unlike in Livingstone where UPND asked that the exercise be suspended, the exercise in all the districts of Eastern Province has gone on without interruptions.
Mr. Bwalya who is also provincial local government officer says the verification of Ballot Paper Account Forms is a normal process under the electoral Act.
