Some pupils at Vubwi Day Secondary School have been learning in TBZ, Tobacco Board of Zambia storage sheds since 1992.
Vubwi District Commissioner, Valenis Moyo however, says that the storage sheds were renovated to provide a conducive learning environment.
She explained that while some pupils are learning in storage sheds, others are learning from a one by three classroom block, which is situated about two kilometres away from the sheds.
Mrs. Moyo told Breeze News that the situation is expected to change when the PF, Patriotic Front government builds a new boarding school in the rural district.
She says that a tender for the construction of the boarding school is expected to be floated within the next two months.
The district commissioner was responding to complaints over why the pupils have continued to learn from storage sheds for such a long time.
