Squatters at Wachepa Village have vowed not to move out of the disputed land, despite government finding them new land in Chief M’sholo’s area.
Speaking to Breeze News, Headwoman Wachepa, Elizabeth Chirwa says that the villagers are not going to accept any relocation because their daily farming activities will be affected if they move.
Mrs. Chirwa says that government should instead relocate Kabalika Nkhwengwe, who is the title owner of the land unlike them who have already settled on the land.
Last week Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chileshe Mulenga indicated that government has been allocated land in Chief M’sholo’s area where the villagers will be relocated.
Dr. Mulenga indicated that this would enable the title owner to occupy his land.
