Stalled works on Katopola-Chizongwe road worries residents

Residents of Walela and Chizongwe area in Chipata have expressed sadness with the works of Sable Construction Company on Katopola-Chizongwe road.
Speaking to Breeze News, the residents indicated that they are disappointed that the contractor is taking too long to finish the road works.
They say that since last year when the road was graded, nothing has been done up to now.
The residents complained that it is hard for school going children to go to school when it rains, especially grade ones because the road is in a poor state.
They appealed to government to engage another contractor to finish the works as soon as possible, if Sable Contractors has failed.
And when contacted for comment Sable Contractors Managing Director Nazil Aloo says the company has suspended the works due to a technical problem.
Mr Aloo says works will resume before the end of this month when the technical problem has been sorted out.
