Construction of a 3.2 million Kwacha state of the art Eye Clinic at Chipata Central Hospital will start this month.
Provincial Medical Officer, Abel Kabalo confirmed this to Breeze News in an interview.
Dr. Kabalo says the Ministry has already advertised for the project and is yet to select a contractor who will carry out the works.
Dr. Kabalo says the state of the art Eye Clinic will be used to attend to all eye problems.
He says more developmental projects will this year take place at the health facility following its upgrading from a General to a Central hospital.
And Dr. Kabalo says a High cost ward has been added at the hospital to act as a fast track ward.
He says that the charges at the high cost ward are affordable compared to some private hospitals.
