Supply of safe clean drinking water to residents of Katete district has improved.
Katete District Commissioner, Joseph Duma Makukula confirmed this to Breeze News.
Mr. Makukula says this follows the completion of a project, which included construction of a dam and a new water treatment plant by Plem Company.
And a check by Breeze News, found the dam completed with a lot of water.
Mr. Makukula says that people are now able to have water supply for almost 24 hours compared to the past when they would only receive water for about six hours.
However, Mr. Makukula notes that water problems in rural parts of the district are still serious.
He says that there are a number of villages that are still facing water problems.
Mr. Makukula says government will ensure that such challenges are reduced through drilling of boreholes using CDF, Constituency Development Funds.
