TBZ to start buying tobacco from independent growers next week.

Government will next week open market for all the   independent tobacco farmers in Eastern Province.

Eastern Independent Tobacco Growers Association Chairperson James Nyirenda confirmed this in a telephone interview with Breeze News.

Mr. Nyirenda says government through TBZ, Tobacco Board of Zambia will next week finally start the buying process for all the remaining tobacco in the province.

He has thanked the government for giving independent growers market, which they have been looking for since the opening of the marketing season.

Mr. Nyirenda says that over 2,000 bales of tobacco have been counted in the province.

He says the floor price for all the tobacco will be announced once the market is opened.
