Teaching equipment for adult literacy classes arrives in Eastern Province

The Department of Community Development has received teaching equipment to facilitate adult literacy classes in Eastern Province.
Senior Community Development Officer Robert Mwenda confirmed this to Breeze News.
Mr Mwenda says that the ministry has received teaching equipment which includes writing boards, dusters, chalk, new curriculum and leaners’ guide.
He says the ministry is working in conjunction with TEVETA, the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority.
Mr Mwenda also says that the ministry has started distributing the materials in some districts.
And some of the districts which have received the materials include Chipata, Katete and Lundazi.
Meanwhile Mr. Mwenda says the response to adult literacy classes is poor during the rainy season because most people are busy with field work.
He has however urged women to take advantage of the programme.
