The Immigration Department in Chipata has removed 10 Malawian nationals who were arrested for various Immigration related offences.
Immigration Spokesperson Namati Nshinka has told Breeze News that the 10 Malawians were removed last Wednesday.
Mr Nshinka also says 32 Tanzanians who were engaged in various businesses in Nakonde without permits have also been removed from Zambia.
Meanwhile, the Lusaka Magistrate Court has convicted Mulumba Nzengo 45, a Congolese national for being in possession of illegal date stamps and unlawfully obtained documents contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Mr Nshinka says Nzengo was sentenced to 18 months simple imprisonment in both counts without an option of a fine.
He says Mr. Nzengo who was a holder of a valid Certificate of Status as an Established Resident Card number 002167 was on 15th May, 2015 arrested by Immigration Officers at his residence in Kaunda Square Stage-One.
This was when he was found in his possession of various unlawfully obtained official Immigration documents which included mutilated stamps, Immigration Permit booklets, Passports and Certificates of Status as an Established Resident Cards.
He was arrested after a tip-off from members of the public.
