The Drug Enforcement Commission DEC in Lundazi district have arrested a 28 year old driver for being in possession of one million seven hundred and fifty Kwacha counterfeit old notes.
DEC Public Relations Officer Samuel Silomba confirmed the development to Breeze News.
Mr. Silomba has identified the suspect as Danny Yambili Phiri of Saidi Village in Chief Phikamalaza.
Mr Silomba revealed that Phiri was arrested on Sunday around 15 hours at Msuzi Basic School.
He is being charged for being in possession of counterfeit notes contrarily to the laws of Zambia.
The DEC spokesperson says the suspect is being remanded in police custody adding that he is expected to appear in court soon.
