The Food Reserve Agency FRA has released ten million Kwacha rebased to clear all outstanding payments to deport clerks across the country.
FRA Public Relations Officer, Michael Mazakaza says that the money is meant to pay January salaries.
The releasing of the money comes amid complaints from deport clerks in Eastern Province that FRA has not paid them their money since November last year.
And Mr. Mazakaza has denied claims by deport clerks in Eastern Province that they have not been paid since November last year.
He says that FRA only owes deport clerks, payment for last month.
On Wednesday deport clerks from various districts in the province visited the permanent secretary’s office alleging that they have not received their salaries from November 2012.
