The Food Reserve Agency FRA is expected to buy over 25,000 bags of maize from farmers in Petauke district this marketing season.
Petauke District Commissioner, Valenasi Moyo has confirmed to Breeze News.
She says the government through FRA will buy this maize from the 34 satellite depots.
And Mrs. Moyo says that the agency may even buy more than the targeted number of bags of maize.
Government has this year increased the maize floor price from 65 to 70 Kwacha for a 50 kilogramme bag.
