The Patriotic Front Party has scooped the five local government by-elections in Lundazi and Petauke districts.
And the ruling party candidate in the Kapiri Mposhi parliamentary by-election in Central Province, Eddie Musonda has taken an early lead.
Breeze FM Correspondent, Mtambwa Nkhoma in Lundazi district, reports that in the Kajilime Ward by-election, PF candidate David Mtika polled 587 votes to beat his closest rival for UPND, United Party for National Development, Maison Phiri, who polled 281 votes.
Zambia for Empowerment and Development ZED candidate, Chokolo Metani got 188 votes, while FDD, Forum for Democracy and Development candidate Jane Nyirongo got 165 votes.
Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD candidate Mabvuto Phiri was surprisingly at the bottom with 51 votes.
Presiding officer Alick Mtonga declared the PF candidate as duly elected Kajilime Ward councilor at 20 hours last evening.
And Petauke Breeze FM Correspondent, Mercy Maseko reports that PF Provincial Chairperson, Mike Tembo has expressed happiness that the party has scooped the four by-elections in Mateyo Muzeka, Singozi, Kovyane and Mawanda.
Results for Ukwimi wards are expected to be announced by 08:00 hours although PF is reported to be heading for victory.
Meanwhile PF candidate in the Kapiri Mposhi parliamentary by-election, Eddie Musonda has so far polled 4,512 votes, followed by UPND candidate, Lawrence Zimba who has polled 3,391.
United National Independence Party UNIP candidate, Francis Mwape has polled 310 votes.
Muvi television staffer, Agnes Jere reports that these results are from 54 out of 89 polling stations in Kapiri Mposhi Constituency. Final results are expected to be announced before mid-day.
