Government has scaled up the social cash transfer scheme to all the 22 wards of Chipata district.
Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu says the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development has included Chingazi and Kwenje wards on the scheme.
Mr. Zulu was speaking in Chipata this morning during a training for the Social Cash Transfer pay point managers, who are head and deputy head teachers from eight schools in Chipata district.
Mr. Zulu says more pay point managers will be needed in the district following the scaling up of the program to all wards.
He says the pay point managers training is important as it will impact them with knowledge and skills which will assist them to effectively carry out the social cash transfer duties.
Mr. Zulu warned the social cash transfer pay point managers to be of sound mind as they have been assigned with a noble role of paying monies to the most vulnerable in society.
He says government will not allow people diverting money meant for the vulnerable in society into their pockets.
