The UPND shuns activities for the International Women’s Day in Chipata.

The opposition UPND, United Party for National Development, yesterday maintained their decision to shun activities for the International Women’s Day in Chipata.

UPND Publicist Secretary Victor Mbuzi says that it was a way of protesting over the draft constitution.

Mr Mbuzi also says that there is nothing to celebrate about as people are hunger stricken and that there are high levels of unemployment in the country.

He reiterated that there is no need for the UPND to celebrate since the Patriotic Front PF government has failed to deliver on its promises it made to the people.

And Mr Mbuzi says that UPND will still not take part in the commemoration of Youth Day, which falls on March 12th.
