In a posting on its website, the service says that it has been receiving a lot of questions from across the country on rumors that the Zambia Prisons Service is recruiting.
Last week, some youths took to social media to express concern that the Zambia Prison Service is receiving application letters, thereby raising questions on the transparence of the recruitment exercise.
But the Zambia Prisons Service has clarified that it has not yet advertised for the recruitment of officers and is currently not receiving any applications.
The prison service emphasized that in an event that the service embarks on the recruitment, an advertisement will be flashed in the press.
The prison Service says that it believes in the culture of providing equal opportunities where citizens compete favorably for employment.
