Thieves steal from Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi’s palace.

Unknown people have broken into Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi’s palace at Mkaika in Katete district.

Eastern Province police commissioner, Alex Chilufya, confirmed the development to Breeze News today describing it as a case of burglary and theft.

Mr. Chilufya says that goods worth about five thousand kwacha, which includes bicycles and household items were stolen.

He explained that at the time of the incident, Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi was not around and the thieves could have taken advantage of his absence to enter the house.

He says that the thieves entered the house by breaking the lock, but no arrests have been made so far.

Mr. Chilufwa says that police have launched investigations, and that some people close to the palace are helping the police with the investigations.

He says that the incident could have occurred between 17 and 20 April but was reported to police yesterday.
