Tobacco farmers from Chama stuck in Lundazi with produce.

Zambia Leaf Tobacco sponsored farmers from Kamfutu in Chama district are reportedly spending nights in the cold in Lundazi district due to delayed payments.
Some of the farmers caught up by Breeze News complained that they are spending nights at Lundazi Bus Station because they do not have money to book accommodation.
Reinford Mkandawire stated that they have overstayed in Lundazi, a situation which has resulted in them facing difficulties to find food.
And Lastone Mtonga of Chimpepo village in Chief Zumwanda, who sold his tobacco on May 8, says he has not been paid as the company has been making unfulfilled promises.
Mr. Mtonga stated that it is unfortunate that the company has continued delaying paying the farmers, who have financial obligations to fulfill.
An effort to get a comment from Zamleaf Leaf management in Lundazi failed by news time as the manager was reported to be out of office.
And Eastern Fodya Association of Zambia EFAZ Provincial Chairperson Franklyn Mwale said that he had not received any complaints over the matter.
