Traders in Eastern Province warned against evading paying tax.

Traders in Chipata have been warned against evading paying tax.
Speaking to Breeze News, ZRA, Zambia Revenue Authority Acting Regional Manager, Peter Mwanza, says that the Tax authority is aware that some traders are in the habit of not issuing out receipts, despite being registered for Value Added Tax.
Mr. Mwanza observed that although a lot of money may be lost, it is hard to establish since receipts are not being issued out.
He however, has warned that offenders risk being charged up to 21, 000 Kwacha if caught.
Mr. Mwanza further challenged customers to always demand for receipts so that traders do not pocket money which is supposed to be remitted as tax.
