Twelve grade nine pupils from Mphangwe RCZ Basic School in Katete district have been expelled from school and barred from writing the final examinations.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Grace Chipalira confirmed the expulsion of the 10 girls and two boys.
Mrs. Chipalira says the pupils were found with leaked grade nine examination papers.
And the provincial police chief disclosed that three pupils at Mphangwe RCZ Basic School have been arrested in connection with the theft of grade nine examination papers, which were stolen from the head teacher’s office last week.
She says that the pupils who are supposed to appear in court on Friday are suspected to have been the ones who supplied the other pupils with the leaked exam papers.
Mrs. Chipalira says that the stolen papers, which contained all the subjects, which grade nine pupils are writing, have been recovered.
Meanwhile two computers have been stolen at Chipata General Hospital ART clinic after some unknown people broke into the room.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Grace Chipalira says the computers contain important information for patients receiving treatment at the hospital.
She says that the theft occurred on Tuesday last week around 22 hours but information reached her office on Wednesday.
