Twenty secondary schools in Eastern Province are expected to receive 100 mobile science laboratories from the 1,000 that are to be distributed in all the provinces.
Eastern provincial Education Officer, Thomas Mwanza told Breeze News that the 20 schools that were identified will get five mobile laboratories each.
The task was given to National Science Centre under the department of Ministry of Education to produce the laboratories.
Mr Mwanza explained that the mobile laboratories will be moving within the classrooms where they will be stationed.
He noted that the laboratories will improve the performance of pupils in sciences as teachers only teach theoretically without any practical examples.
Mr. Mwanza states that during examination there is always a practical component that pupils need to tackle and usually perform poorly because of no exposure during the course of the year.
