Two Chinese nationals attacked by armed robbers evacuated to Lusaka for specialist treatment.

The two Chinese nationals who were admitted to Chipata General Hospital after being attacked on Tuesday morning by three armed robbers in Chipata District have been evacuated to Lusaka for specialist treatment.

Eastern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Alfred Nawa has confirmed.

Michael Cheng 47, Evan Liam 37 and a watchman identified as Goldwin Banda 42 were attacked by robbers at their residence in Chipata Motel area.

Mr Nawa said Michael and Evan before being evacuated to Lusaka by their friends on Wednesday were first treated at the general hospital.

Mr Nawa said the police are still looking for the assailants who attacked the foreign nationals in order to bring them to book.

Meanwhile police in Chipata have launched a manhunt for the thieves who staged burglary theft on Mark Phiri’s house in Mthilansembe Township.

Mr. Nawa says that Mr Phiri reported to police on Wednesday morning that some people broke into his house and stole properties worth millions of Kwacha.

And Mr Nawa says that some unknown people on Wednesday caused malicious damage to a bus belonging to Benson Msanda of Chilenje Township in Lusaka.
