Two hundred teachers in Chipata delay to get paid after being omitted from the payroll.

Two hundred teachers from Chipata District have been omitted from the June payroll.

District Chairperson for ZNUT, the Zambia National Union of Teachers, Isaac Ngoma confirmed this to Breeze News.

Mr Ngoma, who appealed to the teachers to remain calm, says that the union has been assured by the Ministry of Education that the situation will normalise as soon as possible.

He says that the names of the affected teachers have been forwarded to the Provincial Education Office so that the problem is rectified.

And efforts to get a comment from the Provincial Education Officer, Thomas Mwanza proved futile by news time.
