Two people have died in a road traffic accident along Chipata- Lundazi road.

Two people have died while seven others have been seriously injured after being involved in a Road Traffic Accident along Chipata- Lundazi Road.
Eastern Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Alfred Nawa confirmed the incident, which occurred near Lumezi Sable Construction site.
Mr. Nawa said that Chester Ngámbi aged 38 of Chama district and a female only identified as Mutinta aged 20 also from Chama district died on the spot.
Mr. Nawa says that the accident occurred when the vehicle, a Toyota Regius registration number ALA 113 driven by Mulona Nzila a senior executive officer from the office of the President in Chama district lost control and careered off the road causing the vehicle to overturn.
He says that the two died on the spot after sustaining serious head injuries and their bodies are currently lying at Lundazi District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
Mr. Nawa says that the other passengers are admitted to Lundazi district hospital.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist of Nyimba district has died after being involved in a head on collision accident on Saturday.
Mr. Nawa says that Lufeo Mwanza who was driving an unregistered San LG motorbike, sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot after hitting into another motorbike driven by Sydney Mwale near Hambo Basic School in Nyimba district.
