Two police officers from Kamwendo police station in Malawi yesterday testified in the Chipata High Court how they arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Rebecca Daka of Chiziye Primary School in Chipata.
Inspector Chimwemwe Nkhoma aged 34 and Sargent Dite Chasafali told the court how they received information of a Toyota Vitz, with a Zambian Number plate which was being sold in Malawi on February 28th 2016.
They told the court that they followed the matter, which led to the arrest of Arnold Zulu and Mike Phiri.
This is a matter in which, Arnold Zulu and Mike Phiri are charged with the offence of Murder and Aggravated Robbery, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Facts of the offence are that Zulu and Phiri on February 27th 2016 murdered Rebecca Daka, wife of a teacher at Chiziye Primary School in Chipata.
The duo also went away with a vehicle and some cash.
Judge Petronella Ngulube, sitting in the Chipata High Court adjourned the matter to today for continued trial as more witnesses are expected to testify in the matter.
