Two pupils from Chizongwe Technical School football team have been selected to play for the Zambia under 17 national team.
Team captain, Tony Ngoma and Jack Daka, were selected following their impressive performance at the just ended national inter-schools Coca-Cola cup tournament, at which Chizongwe emerged champions.
The team presented the trophy to provincial administration this morning, amidst cheers and jubilations.
And provincial permanent secretary, Chanda Kasolo, praised the boys for doing the province pride.
Kasolo says that sport is as important to national development as education.
He observed that the province is slowly getting back to be a hub for good football players in Zambia.
Kasolo says the province, together with the Copperbelt and Luapula, had a reputation of producing great players.
He also promised to help the team with sports kits.
And school deputy head teacher, Aston Mwanza, revealed that the school has also been recording great success in other extra curricula activities and academics, as authorities have raised levels of discipline.
The Ministry of Education has organized a special lunch to honour the players.
