Two tobacco buying points opened in Eastern Province

Two buying points have been opened in Eastern Province to facilitate the buying process of tobacco from independent growers.

Eastern Fodya Association of Zambia EFAZ Chairperson Franklyn Mwale confirmed this to Breeze News.

Mr. Mwale says Chipata Main floor and another floor in Lundazi district were opened yesterday.

He says that more than two thousand bells of tobacco have been counted at Chipata Main floor while Lundazi has a total number of six hundred bells.

Mr. Mwale says that although no tobacco has been bought yet, TBZ, Tobacco Board of Zambia has managed to receipt all the bells adding that most of the bells have been weighed.

The chairperson says that only one month has been given to buy all the remaining tobacco in the province so that farmers are given enough time to prepare for the next farming season.
