Unionised council workers in the province have called off the strike.
Provincial Local Government and Housing Coordinator, Maclaud Nyirenda, confirmed this to Breeze News.
And Mr Nyirenda has commended council workers from Nyimba, Vubwi and Sinda for not taking part in the strike.

And the Zambia United Local Authority Workers Union, ZULAWU District Branch Secretary, Cyprian Phiri has expressed disappointment with the Mayor, Goodson Thole, for threatening to discipline all council workers who would insist on carrying on with the strike.
Mr Phiri has further appealed to government to find a permanent solution that will adequately address the needs of the council workers.
Meanwhile council workers in Lundazi and Chadiza districts are reported to have continued with the strike.
ZULAWU Lundazi District Chairperson, Jones Muchambwe Nyirenda says that the workers have opted to continue with the strike because the money alleged to have been deposited had not reflected in their Bank accounts.
Mr. Nyirenda has charged that workers will only resume work if they are up to date with their salaries.
And a check by Breeze News at Chadiza District Council found that none of the unionised workers have reported for work.
