United Party for National Development condemns the recently launched Link Zambia 8000 project.

The opposition UPND, United Party for National Development has condemned the recently launched Link Zambia 8000 project.
The UPND observes that the project is concentrated in Lusaka when all provinces have deplorable roads that need to be worked on.
UPND National Chairperson for Youth and Sports Development, Michael Chuzu says that all Zambians should share the national cake unlike the situation on the link Zambia 8000 project.
Mr. Chuzu says that roads like Chipata/Chadiza, which only cover a distance of less than 100 kilometres, should have been included on the project and given priority.
The Link Zambia Project will result in the construction of about 2, 290 kilometres of roads at an estimated cost of 7.9 trillion Kwacha in the first phase of the project.
The Link Project, which was launched in Chieftainess Chiyawa’s area by President Michael Sata last month, will also go over Chongwe River and connect to Feira right through to Luangwa Bridge.
The road will provide a link to Kasisi, Chipembi, Chalimbana and Palabana among other areas.
