Unpaid workers threaten to block Tafelasoni bridge in Chadiza district

About 75 people who were employed by Libyan Construction Company to construct Tafelasoni Bridge in Chadiza district this morning stormed the District Commissioners’ Office demanding payments for their six months’ salary arrears.
Group Chairperson, Masauso Banda says that the company owes each worker 1,750 Kwacha.
The angry workers say that they will close the bridge if they will not be paid their salary arrears.
And Libyan Construction Company Director, Den Phiri says that the company will pay the workers before the end of this week.
Mr. Phiri however, did not state exactly when the workers will get their money.
