Upgrading of township roads in Sinda district is progressing well.
Sinda District Commissioner Paradious Sakala says that this is despite the contractor experiencing challenges in funding and equipment.
So far, the contractor Buildtrust Limited has completed a stretch of 3.6 kilometres, which is ready to be applied with Asphalt.
The works started in July and are to run for 14 months although the contractor has applied for three months extension.
This is because the 3.6 kilometres, which has been done so far was highly infested with termites which meant that the contractor had to spend a lot of time treating the area.
The 15 kilometres township road project is valued at 95.5 million Kwacha and more than 20% of the contract sum has already been paid to the contractor.
