UPND backs calls to construct four more secondary schools in Chipata district.

The opposition United Party for National Development, UPND in Eastern Province, has backed calls by the Ministry of Education on the need to construct four more secondary school in Chipata district.
UPND deputy provincial publicity secretary, Victor Mbuzi says that this would help to reduce the long distances pupils especially in rural constituencies walk to access secondary education.
Mr. Mbuzi, however, emphasised that if the project was to be approved, all the four constituencies must benefit.
He also says that the Ministry of Education must seriously consider putting up a secondary school in Dilika Ward of Chipata Central Constituency.
Mr. Mbuzi says that the area has no secondary school, despite Chipata Town having a number of secondary schools.
Yesterday, Chipata District Education Board Secretary, Kezias Lungu, told Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training, Deputy Minister Professor Nebelyn Wilombe that four more secondary schools need to be built in Chipata district in order to o address the challenge of congestion in classrooms.
