UPND official Michael Chuzu arrested

UPND Deputy National Chairperson for Youth and Sports Development, Michael Chuzu has been arrested by police in Lusaka and charged with theft by servant.

Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Alex Chilufya confirmed to Breeze News that Mr. Chuzu was arrested last week at Emasdale Police station and is currently in remand in Lusaka.

Mr. Chilufya says Mr. Chuzu who was on Police Wanted List was in a different case issued with a bench warrant by a court following his skipping of bond on a criminal charge of theft by servant.

Mr. Chilufya says Police officers from Chipata will be travelling to Lusaka to bring Mr. Chuzu, who will be warned and cautioned over a statement he issued on Chipata Television Station last week.

Mr. Chuzu was quoted on Chipata Television saying the UPND does not recognize President Edgar Lungu because his victory in the August 11th general election was not genuine.
