UPND says delays to release CDF is affecting projects

The United Party for National Development, UPND has observed that delays in the releasing of moneys under CDF, the Constituency Development Fund are affecting developmental projects in rural areas.
Provincial UPND Publicity and Information Secretary, Victor Mbuzi, says that many projects are either failing to start or are uncompleted.
Mr. Mbuzi wondered why it has become a trend that CDF money should be spent a year late.
He says that it is important that the funds are released on time to ensure that people in rural areas also enjoy benefits of development.
Mr. Mbuzi says that rural areas face many challenges such as lack of safe drinking water, poor road networks, shortage of health and education facilities.
He has pointed out that CDF can do a lot in improving people’s living conditions in rural areas.
