Vubwi District Council angers plot seekers

Vubwi District Council has been accused of collecting money from plot seekers but without showing them their land.
Speaking to Breeze News, some people, who successfully acquired the plots from the local authority, last year, wondered why the council was not showing them their land.
They complained that since last year, the council has been giving excuses that they cannot show them their land because surveyors have not yet surveyed the plots.
And some plots seekers are reported to have run out of patience and have started putting up make shift shelters, which do not meet the required standards.
But when contacted, Vubwi District Council Secretary, John Kamanga stated that surveyors from Chipata have arrived in the district and will work for 20 days.
Mr. Kamanga explained that there was no need for panic as people will be shown their plots immediately after the surveying has been completed.
He says that the council has over 500 plots, half of which were already surveyed.
