Workers at Eastern Water and Sewerage Company demand removal of managing director, Lyton Kanowa.

Employees at Eastern Water and Sewerage Company are demanding for the removal of the Company’s Managing Director, Mr. Lyton Kanowa.
The workers who spoke to Breeze News on condition of anonymity accused Mr. Kanowa of delaying to pay their salaries and not remitting their loan deductions to the Bank.
They added that the Managing Director has a tendency of fault finding in members of staff and uses the divide and rule system kind of management.
The workers claimed that following the impasse, Mr. Kanowa has been sent on an indefinite forced leave until the issues facing the workers have been resolved.
But when contacted for a comment, Mr. Kanowa denied the allegations and said he has gone on normal annual leave.
Mr. Kanowa says complaints by workers may be there but that this was not the reason why he is on leave.
And acting managing director only identified as Mr. Mweene declined to comment on the matter stating that company public relations officer, Henry Kashoki, who was not in his office, will issue a comprehensive media statement tomorrow.
Efforts to reach Mr. Kashoki by mobile phone proved futile as his phone went unanswered.
