Works of tarring Mfuwe-Nabwalya road advance.

Works of upgrading the 118 kilometres Mfuwe-Nabwalya road to bituminous standard have reached 16 per cent.

Road Development Agency RDA Regional Manager Thomas Zimba has confirmed stating that the works done so far do not involve any tarring.

Mr Zimba told Breeze News that the works that have been done involve vegetation clearing and bed preparation.

He explained that the 540.8 million Kwacha project, which was signed last year, is funded by NRF, National Road Fund.

Mr Zimba says that Raubex Construction Limited is the company contracted to carry out the works while Barry Zambia Limited is the consultant.

The 118 kilometres is part of the total stretch of 235 kilometres, Mfuwe-Nabwalya-Mpika road, which is being upgraded to bituminous standard.

The remaining 117 kilometres, which is under Lot 1 is being worked on by China Henan Construction Company, who started the project works from Mpika district.
