Zambia has today started the migrating from analogue to digital.
And government has urged people owning television sets in Eastern Province not to rush in buying the TV decoders for changing analogue to digital.
Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Forrie Tembo has told Breeze News the decoders are not necessary at the moment because digital equipment has not yet been installed.
Mr Tembo says the project is only being piloted in Lusaka and other towns along the line of rail where digital equipment was installed.
He says it is not automatic that the people who have television sets will be affected with the switching from analogue to digital.
