The Ministry of Energy and Water Development has cautioned that the country will face a serious shortage of water this year.
Deputy Minister, Charles Zulu says that indications from the Water Affairs and the Meteorological Department are that water levels in most water bodies in the country have drastically gone down.
He explained that the situation is very serious and that both urban and rural areas will be affected.
Mr. Zulu explained that the reports show that the water problem will also affect food production.
He explained that last week, his ministry spearheaded a meeting to look at ways of helping people, who will be affected.
Mr. Zulu, however, says that government will do everything possible to ensure that all those affected receive help and that no one starves.
