Traders in Eastern Province have been encouraged to accommodate legal traders from other countries.
Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry EPCCI, Executive Officer Josephine Chirwa, says foreign traders entering the country legally should be supported.
Ms Chirwa explained to Breeze Business News that this is because government is committed to supporting economic integration with other neighbouring countries.
She says that Zambia is not an island, and that Zambian traders are also found in other foreign countries.
Ms Chirwa urged Zambian traders to embrace foreign competition and find ways of being more competitive.
She was reacting to concerns that some traders in Chipata feel that their businesses are not doing so well due to the influx of foreign traders.
