Zambia’s under 17 women football team has lifted the SADC zone six trophy after easing past defending champions Zimbabwe.
Helen Mubanga’s 10th minute goal gave the hosts a lead.
Six minutes later, Mubanga was on target again after captuarising from a defensive error to give the junior shepolopolo a comfortable lead.
After the half time, Zimbabwe gained momentum as they fought had to equalise, but in vain.
Zambia could have added more goals in the closing stages of the game, but lack of accuracy coasted them.
Later this afternoon, Zambia’s under 17 male football team squares it off against South Africa, in the men’s category.
