ZANACO to build new bank in Chipata

The Chipata ZANACO Bank building which was gutted by fire in 2013 has continued to pose danger to members of the public.

The building whose fence is now collapsing with cracked walls has seen illegal vendors using the frontage for business activities.

A check by Breeze News at the building this morning found street vendors busy conducting their business.

When contacted for a comment, ZANACO Head of Corporate Affairs, Joy Sata told Breeze News that the building process of the branch is currently in progress.

Ms. Sata says the new branch is expected to be built at the same site next year.

She says Chipata as a provincial centre is important and the bank will use this opportunity to build a bank that will meet customers’ expectations and experience.

Ms. Sata added that no money was lost in the inferno in 2013 and business has not been affected in any way.
