ZESCO customers told to brace themselves for power loading

Water levels at Kariba Dam have gone below the safe threshold of 975 meters.
This has forced ZRA, the Zambezi River Authority to send distress calls for Kariba Dam water levels.
ZESCO Regional Manager, Alex Chilongo has confirmed the development stating that this has resulted in reduced power generation.
Mr. Chilongo says that the power company has immediately started implementing load shedding in the evening and will do so until further notice.
He explained that ZESCO head office has advised regional offices to reduce power generation to 100 Megawatts to graduate towards the required reduction.
