Businesses in Eastern Province have been given leeway to state their preferred hours of load shedding by ZESCO.
Reacting to concerns raised by some investors, ZESCO Public Relations Manager, Henry Kapata, said that management would be flexible enough to receive submissions from the business sector on their ideal hours of load shedding.
Mr. Kapata explained that it was hard to manage the load shedding in a way that the businesses are not affected during their peak production hours, as some of them are located in residential areas.
He explained that this is why such businesses are affected as the power utility company mainly targets load shedding residential areas during the day.
In an interview with Breeze News, some businesses complained that they have continued to incur huge losses because they are load shaded during peak hours of production.
