Zambia National Union of Teachers ZNUT has questioned government why salaries for civil servants have delayed this month.
Mambwe District Chairperson, Weston Phiri has told Breeze News that the union is worried that government has not yet paid the workers.
Mr. Phiri says that government should learn to communicate whenever they encounter a challenge in paying salaries because delays create anxiety among workers, which can be a recipe for confusion.
And Mr. Phiri argued that the last day for paying salaries is not the end of the month because government has created a cycle where workers are paid on the 18th of every month.
He says that it is therefore, not correct for government to tell civil servants that the salaries have not delayed.
This is the second time this year that civil servants have accused government of not paying them on time.
