The Zambia National Union of Teachers, ZNUT, in Eastern Province says that it is not fully satisfied with the manner in which negotiations for conditions of services were conducted this year.
ZNUT Provincial Chairperson, Alakwisa Phiri says that while the union appreciates government for better salaries, the new conditions of service caused many problems, due to the discrepancies, especially for those in management.
He explained that the job evaluation, which was conducted brought a lot of misunderstandings among teacher members.
Mr. Phiri however, expressed happiness that government has indicated that it will start clearing out some of the challenges.
And Mr. Phiri also expressed unhappiness that some teachers who deserve rural hardship allowances were not given.
He appealed to government to look into the matter in 2014, to avoid any problems.
