The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) has secured the Dilika Ward seat. ![]()

Lewis Zulu was declared the winner after the seat became vacant in July following the resignation of Florence Jere.![]()

Voter turnout was notably low, with only 3,710 of the over 26,000 registered voters participating in the election.![]()

Lewis Zulu of UPND received 1,543 votes, followed by independent candidate Aaron Zimba with 764 votes and Juma Milanzi from the Socialist Party, who garnered 606 votes.![]()

Other candidates included Lucky Chileshe of Citizens First, who received 556 votes, UNIP's Cuthbert Bwalya with 89 votes, and independent candidate Joseph Daka, who secured 40 votes.![]()

Syluvias Kamungu from the Leadership Movement and independent candidate Agnes Phiri, the only female candidate, received 25 votes. Gift Sakala, also running as an independent, received 7 votes.![]()

Councilor-elect Lewis Zulu has pledged to continue the work of his predecessor, expressing his readiness to represent the people of Dilika Ward in the Chipata City Council.
